Weekend Fun

A little 80's action on Saturday! More pictures HERE.

Our annual neighborhood 4th of July parade. You bet we're all rockin' our Old Navy flag tees.

Mason and cousin, Katherine, watching the fire truck lead the parade

Swimming and barbecue at Grandma Pete's. Mason is hanging with Uncle Jared.

First time under the water. M did great!

All smiles

Taking a snack break. How cute is that towel???

4th of July in our family has to include fresh oysters. My brother, Justin, and dad celebrate Justin's 25th birthday (also on the 4th) with the first bite. YUM.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too. We are home enjoying an awesome day off-- yay for bank holidays!

Weekend Fun

This weekend was all about the water

We spent Saturday at the neighborhood pool, which is only for kids under 7 and has a cool mushroom water feature

Sunday we hung out at Auntie Lindsey's

No one had better tell Mason that frozen peas and roasted beets aren't "snack" foods

Before you feel sorry for him, he did get a whole (mini) cupcake to himself

Margarita cupcakes with lime frosting
(you can find the recipe HERE)

Have a great week!

Weekend Fun

Happy early birthday to me!!!
Tage completely surprised me with a new sewing machine for my birthday. I am so, SO excited! This thing does more stuff than I even knew a sewing machine can do.

Friday night I had dinner with friends.
Me, Lindsey, Heidi, L. Shanna, Veronica and Laura

Heidi gave me an early birthday present too! This cookbook...

These muffins are amazing. They turned out light and fluffy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside. Thank you, Heidi!

Tage and I had a date night on Saturday night and attended his friend Davey's wedding. (Thank you for watching Mason, Grandma Dee and Grandpa Jack!)

Mase enjoyed the warm Spring weather...

He was pretty proud of himself (notice the clapping) when he figured out how to turn the sprinkler on and off.

We hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed time with your loved ones. Have a great week! (Roseanne and Kim, please move closer-- I miss you already.)

Weekend Fun

You'd think all I did this weekend was bake...
And Tage's favorite Sweet Potato Blueberry Bread by Bonnie the Baker

Add to that 11 hours worked between two jobs, church, the farmers market and a bike ride-- and there you have our weekend fun!

Oh, and I almost forgot, we watched Lance Armstrong and the Amgen Tour of California ride by our street on Sunday. So cool!

Weekend Fun: Mother's Day

Mason made his first Sunday school project: a Mother's Day card

There were definitely tears in my eyes when his Sunday school teacher handed it to me!

Saturday I actually spent in San Diego but have no pictures yet (there were some super star photographers there so I just plan on snagging pictures from them when they post them.) Tage and Mason had a father/son day (thanks honey!)

Sunday we had my mom and brothers over for brunch then relaxed for the rest of the day.
I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Weekend Fun

These are actually photos from two weekends ago, but I got them from my friend Veronica this morning.

Our two little chefs in training.

In case you were wondering, her little guy on the right is wearing his shirt around his neck like a cape. How much do you love 2 year-olds?! :)

Weekend Fun

Enjoying strawberries with Mom

My first attempt at cinnamon rolls-- I'm pretty sure anything made of butter, flour, sugar and cinnamon tastes good (even if you use yeast that expired in 2004)

Sunday night dinner with friends
(Super yummy sangria made using this recipe)

The pups and the kids wearing each other out

Have I mentioned we love Spring?

Weekend Fun

Lots of time outside enjoying the gorgeous Spring weather!

Watching Daddy mow the lawn is fascinating

Warning: Do not leave baskets of laundry unattended

A rousing game of chase-Astro-around-the-yard

Time to climb

Finally, the "Follow me Mommy!" look

Have a great week!
