Mason's first: Hair cut

 

Mason's hair had begun to get a little shaggy around his ears and the base of his neck so it was time to visit Nanna at the salon for his first trim!

 

It's a good thing there are huge mirrors in front of those chairs-- Mase loves looking at his reflection.

 

 He sat relatively still and didn't seem to mind the spray bottles or scissors.

Then came the blow dryer...

(Am I a bad mom because this picture makes me crack up?!)

 

 All for a good cause. Look at that handsome boy!

Here comes Santa Clause

Even though we're not raising Mason to believe in Santa, there was no way I could pass up taking him for the obligatory "Santa's lap picture", especially considering the proceeds went to support local charities through the sheriff's department. (This particular Santa had been a police officer for 30 years!)

We went to the local "Santa's Toy Shoppe" and actually got to listen to Santa read us Christmas stories.

Mason was totally into checking out the Big Guy.

He even let Santa hold him! No separation anxiety here...

Mason, Vince and Derek had the whole Toy Shoppe to themselves.

What a great first visit to see Santa!

4. What was the best Christmas gift you received as a child? probably the pro 49ers jacket I got in elementary school-- I thought I was the COOLEST

5. What items are on your kid’s wish list this year? wooden blocks, an annual pass to ArtBeast and for his teeth to all just come IN already

6. What is your favorite holiday food? peppermint ice cream and pumpkin spice lattes

7. What will you be hand-crafting for the holidays? scarves (thanks to this), homemade kahlua (recipe to come) and various other yummy goodness

8. What is your favorite holiday movie? The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (the original, not the Jim Carey version)

9. Favorite holiday song? I can't do holiday music. There is just too much of it, too soon. I get burned out.

10. Favorite holiday pastime? Spending time with the people I love
