6 Months

Mason turned 6 months old on Sunday. All I could think when I woke up was, "How in the world could we already have a 6 month old?" There is just something about that milestone.Tuesday was his check-up and our little chunk weighed in at 17 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 27 1/2 inches long. He is in the 60th percentile for his weight still and 80th for his height-- Mase is definitely going to be tall.At 5 months we started him on baby rice cereal and in the past two weeks he has enjoyed watermelon, banana, nectarine, avocado and carrot. We are trying to expose him to as many varieties of flavors as possible. This week will be cantaloupe, broccoli and beets. And yes, I'm making our baby food. It's so ridiculously easy and CHEAP. Not to mention I know exactly what goes into my baby's mouth and can make sure there are no chemicals, preservatives or pesticides. Kim, it's so easy and takes so little time, even you could do it. ;)

He is working on rolling over from back to front and can sit up on his own now (even though he is still a bit wobbly.) He likes to babble and sings in the bath tub in the evenings. Mason is such a little snuggle bug and loves our morning play time in bed before we all have to get up and get going for the day. He is still sleeping great and lays down in his crib around 7:30-8PM, babbles and plays on his back for a while and falls asleep after I come in and kiss him goodnight and turn him over onto his belly. He is off in dreamland until usually 5-5:30AM.

Tage and I feel like we have the best baby ever. He still rarely cries and is really good about communicating when he is uncomfortable, bored, tired or when he is content, happy or pleased.

Happy 6 months Mase!

  1. Happy 6 months to Mason! What a big boy! He and Claire are about the same size (and she is almost 11 months!) I hate to tell you, but the next 6 months will go even faster! Time to start planning that birthday party! :)
