Before and After: Vocabulary

"Pumped"
Before: adjective; meaning to be excited about something
After: verb; what I just did on my break at work

"Blow out"
Before: adjective; when your car tire explodes
After: noun; when your baby's diaper explodes

"Sleeping through the night"
Before: adjective; actually sleeping all night
After: adjective; when your child reaches a point where you are getting enough sleep (measured by consecutive hours) that you no longer forget your own name

"Cereal"
Before: noun; comes in a box, it's crunchy, you pour milk on it and then eat it with a spoon
After: noun; it does come in a box and you do pour milk on it... you start out with a spoon but end up just pouring the remainder of the bowl into your child's upturned mouth, hoping more goes in than comes out

"Sleeping in"
Before: verb; to wake up after 9AM
After: Um... yeah... I'll have to get back to you on this one
